Jobid=66722729b189 (0.102)

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Development Engineer to join our engineering team as a consultant, bringing deep technical knowledge to support the design and realization of advanced mechatronic systems and high-performance products. In this role, you’ll contribute to complex, multidisciplinary projects—transforming conceptual ideas into robust, scalable, and production-ready solutions.

You will work within dynamic project teams, collaborating with systems, electronics, software, and manufacturing experts to deliver integrated designs that meet functional, quality, and regulatory requirements. If you’re a hands-on engineer with a systems mindset and a track record of delivering in fast-moving environments, this is your opportunity to make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate high-level system concepts into detailed mechanical designs for subsystems and components, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Develop 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation (e.g., BOMs, assembly instructions, service manuals) using CAD tools.
  • Support the design, integration, and testing of mechatronic systems—balancing mechanical, thermal, dynamic, and control aspects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electronics, software, and systems engineering to ensure seamless integration.
  • Work under the guidance of a senior technical lead within mid- to long-term, complex development projects, often structured in sub-teams.
  • Contribute to design for quality, manufacturability, and serviceability (DfX) throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Apply mechanical design principles to challenges in dynamics, thermal behavior, fine mechanics, materials selection, and precision metrology.
  • Support risk assessments, design reviews, and verification activities, including DFMEA and test planning.
  • Maintain and enhance technical documentation in PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, cPLM).
  • Interface with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners to align on design requirements and technical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant design controls, safety standards, and regulatory expectations (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO 13485, FDA) where applicable.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical product development, preferably in high-tech, medical, industrial, or precision equipment environments.
  • Proven ability to translate conceptual designs into detailed, production-ready mechanical solutions.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably Creo Parametric (or equivalent tools like Siemens NX, SolidWorks).
  • Experience with PDM/PLM systems such as Windchill or cPLM for document and configuration management.
  • Solid understanding of mechatronic systems, including dynamics, control, thermal management, and actuation/sensing principles.
  • Familiarity with engineering analysis methods (e.g., FEA, tolerance stack-ups) and design for quality practices.
  • Knowledge of regulatory design standards and development processes in regulated industries is highly valued.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills—effective in multidisciplinary, international teams.
  • Independent, proactive, and customer-focused—able to deliver results in a project-based environment.
  • Fluent in English; local language skills are a plus.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare technology, or industrial automation.
  • Understanding of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) or V-model development.
  • Certification in Design for Six Sigma (DfSS), Lean, or Agile project delivery.
  • Scripting or automation skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for data analysis or design support.
  • Proven success in consulting, interim, or project-based engineering roles.
