Functieomschrijving Mechanical Function Development Engineer – Cutting Elements We are looking for a Mechanical Function Development Engineer to drive innovation in cutting element design for grooming and beauty appliances. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing cutting components from concept to mass production, ensuring high performance, reliability, and manufacturability. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the advancement of consumer product technologies. You are responsible for Generating cutting components for grooming and beauty equipment such as shavers, trimmers, clippers, body groomers, single blades, and epilators. You uphold our trusted standards of functionality, design, and simplicity. Develop and engineer cutting elements for grooming and beauty devices (e.G., shavers, trimmers, clippers, epilators) Translate user, commercial, and functional requirements into technical specifications Ensure functionality, performance, quality, and manufacturability of cutting elements Plan, execute, and oversee function development from research to product realization Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and testing to enhance product performance Capture, document, and apply technical knowledge to improve existing and future designs Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, marketing) to align development goals Functie-eisen Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field Strong understanding of mechanical principles and product functionality Experience in function development for consumer products Knowledge of advanced product development methodologies Experience with CAD, FEM, and Python is a plus Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) is a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment ~ Pension Plus scheme (build-up from day 1)~13th month (paid periodically on a pro-rata basis) or the possibility of a bonus (4 to 8% per quarter – average of 1 month’s salary per year)~25 days of vacation per year based on 40 hours
